Born Cross-Eyed-2/14/68!!! I think Bobby describes the split-second silence that occurs in this song as "thick air" or at least that was the sound they were trying to create back then.I don't know about you but I love that terminology/analogy. If there is such a sound/thing, I suppose this is as close as you can get to it,LOL. Read the posts on the download page for this one and I have to agree that some people just don't get it-Listen to and enjoy the stream and don't mess it up for the rest of us by giving instructions for recording. We may not like it but dems da rules guys.

Dosing the engineer might have helped...but I really think the Thick Air is in between Bobby's ears. Especially when he starts going "HAAAAAH!" at the ends of certain numbers...

Pauly,
There is a segment discussing this in the documetary video "Anthem to Beauty". Bobby's request for thick air on the studio album drove the producer nuts to the point where he quit the project. Funny stuff!! Find the video if you can, it was pretty interesting to watch.

Classic Bobby...it seems half joking and fully serious at the same time.

Actually I think that's where I learned about this so-called "thick air" quest by Bobby and the boys. It was on VH1, I believe, on a day(s) they also showed a doc about The Band, and also aired "The Last Waltz". Still brings a tear to my eye when Phil discusses the process of writing "Box Of Rain" with Hunter. But a pretty good doc all-in-all. Fare thee well.

honestly?? never been better (thus far). feels like the obsession has been entirely lifted - and i will take that for this 24 hours, and pray that it continues into the next. i was at a phenomenal facility with a phenomenal therapist who has basically saved my life through our work together.

now it is time to move forward and work at gaining back all the trust that i have lost. only time and hard work will do that.

i hope you and yours are doing well, my brother and friend.

Great to hear you doing well. All good things in all good
time. Soon you will have it all back man.
Things could be better here but, then again they could always be worse. I'm not complaining though.
Keep the faith and move forward.
